It began as a series of enjoyable studio jams. Melodies and lyrics were written afterward, and halfway through the process the songs revealed a connected pandemic-era narrative waiting for dialogue, staging and choreography.

Stories behind the songs
For You
Inspired by caring for Marlo after she broke her ankle in three places and underwent surgeries.
Different
Created as a warm-up jam before Randy Wall arrived, with Guy, Roger Tausz, Chaz Nadege, Patrick Brink and Leesa Harrington Squyres. Lyrics were added later.
Mole People
A metaphor for people staying inside during the pandemic.
Angels in the Snow
Inspired by the growing number of friends losing spouses and loved ones. It is not about one particular person.
Long Way Home
A composite story drawn from people stranded overseas during the pandemic.
What Does It Take?
About trying to get one person to commit.
Willing to Testify
Inspired by corrupt officials receiving subpoenas.
Giving It Up For You
About caring for Marlo and about women taking larger public leadership roles.
Good to Be Alive
Written after Guy and Marlo survived serious health scares.
